Change
Looking back at 2011 it has been a year of enormous change for me.
On Jan 22 I got married to the love of my life whom I have been with since the fragile age of 19. I am a happily married woman now. The changes in our relationship are subtle, but they’re there.

All I Want for Christmas
I wish people would stop expecting that I’m expecting. I find it rather obnoxious that just because I’m at a certain age and because recently got married that I want a baby.

A girl my age just thought I was “like… 22 or 23. You look younger!” It made my day. Eventhough it officially means I am so old I get flattered when people think I am younger.
I’ve been told since the age of 17 that I look “like 22 or 23”. That made me happy back then as well. So… Technically… Do I look 17?

Bonjour! I don't speak French.
“Bonjour hi!”
This phrase greets me everywhere I go in Montréal. I hear it at the grocery store, I hear it at the food court and at the pharmacy. The post office greets me this way and so does the nice man at the Depaneur down the street.

The day after the day before
I cannot comprehend what happened at Utøya in Norway. The total death toll is now 91 but will most likely still be rising.
Today I cannot smile.
I cannot laugh.
There are no happy thoughts or calm blue oceans.
I’m in deep sorrow and as angry as I have ever been in my life.

First of all, I’d like to offer great praise to some people in Norway today. Police who caught, without shooting and killing, the shooter at Utoya who is now highly suspected of also being responsible for the bomb in Oslo. All rescue personell and witnesses who helped victims in both scenarios….

Norway lost it's innocence today
Today Norway suffered some terrible losses under what can only be described as Oslo’s 9/11.
I’ve tried to put my emotions into words but I can’t. I’ve been crying all day long, and when the name of the perpetrator was released I had to throw up.
First he bombed Oslo’s government building, then he drove out to Utøya dressed up as a police officer and cold bloodedly...
